Although the game is fun, it is geared at serious learning...
You will learn:
1) To balance the complex nature of finance, marketing, work-flow and people in your organisation.
2) To interact with others under pressure, learning how your style can hinder or help you.
3) To make better decisions and make them faster.
4) To look at business from more than one perspective. Having this holistic view will help you run the business better and provide better products or service to your customers.
We debrief the game in detail, bringing learning back to the workplace and your business. You will leave the game with ideas and an action plan for improving your own organisation.
Each day equates to one year of real time and is a complete game. Each group is different though and as a group you will decide what issues or elements you would like to have introduced into the next session. The following is an example of how a group might proceed over the 6 month period.
Month 1 - Get into the game; understand the interaction between people, marketing, finance, work-flow and results.
Month 2 - Deal with a recession and learn what to do to prepare for the good times ahead.
Month 3 - Deal with a changing environment where strategy must lead to immediate decision making and action.
Month 4 - Deal with a strong labour market where staff turnover is high.
Month 5 - Deal with cut-throat competitors and a price war. (This includes issues of outsourcing to India/China)
Month 6 - Deal with increasing customer demands for faster delivery and higher quality.
At each workshop, we will also explore a real situation from one of the organisations in the room, working on the issue together and providing guidance, advice and perspective from our joint experience.
